!! PEDALS vs. PISTONS !!

vs. Horseshoes vs. Hiking Boots

Be a part of the action as the Flagstaff Biking Organization (and friends) take on the  Coconino Trail Riders (and friends) , the Coconino Horsemens Alliance and the Northern Arizona Trail Runners Association in a trail building duel to the death, or pizza, whichever comes first.

Work on the fantastic Kelly Canyon Project,  (YES IT’s MOTORIZED). When: Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 8:00 AM

Where: Take Lake Mary Road East approx 3 miles to Frontier go Right to FR 3E go Left to FR 3J and look for the CTR CHECKERED FLAG awning and banner.

Participants will receive a $10 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC gift card And Special Shirt ,while supplies last

What to bring and other details:

Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, sunscreen, water, and head protection are required. Hardhats, gloves, tools, and trail work instructions will be provided. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Lunch: Pizza by Fratelli Pizza (thanks!) will be served at 1:00 p.m. Hobnob with fellow trail advocates. Discuss land use issues and dirtbikes with fellow workers and new friends. Trophy presentation.

Flagstaff Scenic Tour

Last weekends FST was a huge success . Close to 100 Riders rode over 200 miles in the Pines and a good time was had by all. I would like to thank all the Sponsors and  workers , with a special thanks to Wayne Rutledge and Frank Cornellius who logged countless hours in the saddle and at the computer. Great Job

Starts at 8:30 am.

We will again be working on the Kelly Trail System.

The gang from FASTR will be having a camp and ride weekend and will be there to join in.

The new CTR shirts will be available.

We will have Ni Marcos Pizza for lunch and as always a $10 Rocky Mountain M/C card goes to all that attend.

Directions: Take Lake Mary Rd East to Frontier go Right to 3E go left to FSR 866 go Left and Right on FSR 867A. We should see ribbon along 867A where we will stage. If you don’t see signs we aren’t there yet.

Side Note: There will be a chance to check out the Proposed Trials Area after the trail day, should be fun.

General Information:


  • 2 Day Event Registration – $125
  • Includes Sat. & Sun. Breakfast Buffet. Sat. Lunch & Dinner. Roll Charts. GPS Tracks. and Event Gift!
  • AMA Sanctioned. Membership Not Required
  • Passengers ride free but must purchase food tickets
  • Limited to highway registered and insured motorcycles: licensed operators only

Ride Information:


  • Event Headquarters at Flagstaff Elks Lodge, 2101 N. San Francisco St. Flagstaff. AZ 86004
  • Dual Sport A, B, & C/ Adventure Bike Routes available both days
  • A Routes: FS roads & single track
  • B Routes: FS roads, some single track & Primitive roads
  • C /Adventure Routes: FS roads. some semi-maintained
  • All routes contain some Paved roads & city streets (must be equipment legal)
  • Saturday Routes:  160 mile total. with gas at 65 mile and 100 mile
  • Sunday  Routes:  60-80 mile total. with gas and food stop at 40 mile (note food is provided by the participant)
  • All routes will circle the San Francisco Peaks in the beautiful Coconino National Forest. Saturday’s route will take YOU to Munds Park for lunch, served by the Munds Park Fire Department. Sunday’s route will take YOU to the serene waters of Mormon Lake. *NOTE – Mid-July is the rainy season in Flagstaff, so come Prepared.

What’s so special?

Well the AMA will be there writing an article on clubs that are pro active. State Parks will have a film crew out doing a video. The ATR will be hosting a camp and ride weekend and have invited  the CTR to join in.

September 21st, Pedals v. Pistons v. Horseshoes v. Hiking Boots, Secret Trail Maintenance

JOIN THE CHALLENGE! Let’s see which trail user group can show up in the greatest numbers for this great trail! A lovely trophy is on the line for the winning group… they will hold that trophy until next year’s challenge. Join this fun event… we ALL WIN when we work together to build good trail and strong trail-user relationships!

We will be working from the Schultz Pass/Sunset Trailhead area. Drive up Schultz Pass Road, (High clearance recommended), roughly 4 1/2 miles. Meeting location and parking will be signed.

What to bring and other details:

All Trail events start at 8:30 am and conclude with lunch at 1:00 pm unless otherwise noted. Coffee will be served between 8:00 am and 8:30 am, and snacks, beverages, tasty lunch and FUN are all provided.
